Adolescent medicine
Led by Mary Fournier, MD, the hospital's Adolescent Medicine Program includes general adolescent primary and consultation care, gynecologic care for ages 0 to 24, and transition consultations for adolescents with special healthcare needs. These include:
- Prepubertal vulvar and vaginal complaints
- Pubertal issues
- Menstrual regulation and hygiene
- Menstrual irregularities
- Medical management of ovarian cysts
- Contraception and family planning
- Screening for alcohol and drug use
- Screening for depression and other mental health issues
- Screening for risk-taking behaviors
The team is dedicated to helping teens and their families optimize health, successfully navigate adolescence, and transition care into adult health and community settings.
