There is a wide variety of skin conditions that affect children from the earliest newborn days through the age of 18 that may require the clinical care of a pediatric dermatologist.
The more common conditions include eczema/atopic dermatitis, warts, hemangiomas, ringworm, acne and more. We have provided a brief overview of these and other conditions.
More complex problems may include such rare skin disorders as epidermolysis bullosa, Henoch-Schoenlein purpura, scleroderma and a variety of vascular and pigmented skin lesions that require laser treatment.
