The Division of Infectious Disease at Children's Memorial Hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for children with a wide variety of infectious diseases, including many that are rarely seen in this country.

A few of the major illnesses treated include Kawasaki disease, streptococcal infections and rheumatic fever, pediatric and adolescent HIV/AIDS infections, tuberculosis, bone infections, recurrent sore throat, hemophilus infections, measles, chicken pox and infectious mononucleosis (EBV infections).

And because Children's Memorial is an academic institution whose doctors are on the faculty at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, the staff is continually involved in education and research as well as patient care.
