Physical therapists
- Assess and treat movement dysfunction
- Improve muscle strength, endurance, range of motion
- Assess and facilitate the attainment of gross motor milestones and function
- Promote wellness and fitness
- Assess, train, and recommend appropriate assistive equipment
- Provide education to caregivers
- Consult with other professionals regarding the role of physical therapy
- Collaborate with caregivers and child to create effective carry-over from physical therapy clinic to home
