For more than 125 years, Children’s Memorial Hospital has been committed to improving the health and well-being of all children.  With nearly 1,100 pediatric specialists in more than 70 specialties, we routinely provide more care to more young people than any other Chicago-area hospital.  In our fast-paced environment, patients, families and co-workers expect excellence. Three core values guide all of our actions and expectations of each other:

• Children’s Memorial became the first hospital in Illinois and the first freestanding children’s hospital in the nation to receive the prestigious Magnet Recognition for Nursing Excellence from the American Nurse’s Credentialing Center as one of the great places to work as a nurse.
• In 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 we were named as one of the top 100 companies in the country for working mothers to work for by Working Mother magazine.
• In 2008, Modern Healthcare magazine named Children's Memorial as one of the nation's best places to work in healthcare.

• Also on our most recent employee survey, on the overall satisfaction scale of 1 to 7, with 7 being “I Love it”, 82% of our staff rated Children’s Memorial a 6 or 7.
