New Hospital Community Relations
In 2006, Children’s Memorial Hospital announced it would be building Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, a new state-of-art facility on the campus of Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Streeterville. Since that time, Children's Memorial has worked together with Alderman Brendan Reilly (42nd Ward) and Streeterville community organizations, condo boards, residential associations and businesses to gather their input on our hospital plans. In addition, as a result of working with Alderman Reilly and the Streeterville community, Children's Memorial and our campus partners, Northwestern University, Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago , have committed to make significant investments in the neighborhood to improve traffic.
The mission of Children’s Memorial’s community relations department is to ensure that the hospital is a responsible and contributing partner in the community. Children's Memorial is committed to continuing to work with Alderman Reilly and the community in and around the medical campus to support the mission of the hospital in a manner that respects the quality of life of our neighbors.
