Elaine Morgan, MD,
Hematology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplant, planned to be in Haiti to bring her 4-year-old, adoptive daughter, Djoude, back home to Skokie for the first time, but since the devastating earthquake, Morgan has been left wondering if and when the homecoming would take place. On January 21, a plane with 20 Haitian adopted children arrived in Florida to join their anxiously awaiting new families. One of the children was Djoude. Morgan says, “It's amazing, it's a miracle and I don't believe in miracles.”
