Hundreds of thousands of dollars raised one step at a time

January 31, 2010 -- Approximately 2,400 steppers raised an estimated $500,000 for Children’s Memorial Hospital during the 13^th Annual Kohl’s Step Up for Kids stair climb to the top of the 80-floor AON Center in Chicago. WGN-TV captured the “steppers,” who included Children’s Memorial patient Michael McCarthy, who climbed with the aid of two prostheses.  The money raised goes toward funding Family Services.
