For the fifth straight year, Children's Memorial named a Working Mother "100 Best Company"
September 22, 2009 - For the fifth straight year, Children's Memorial has been named by Working Mother magazine as one of the 2009 Working Mother 100 Best Companies for its dedication to family-friendly benefits. From a flexible work week to backup child care and parental leave, Children’s Memorial is committed to supporting families as a vital part of its culture.
“In the last year we have seen a five percent drop in the number of companies offering flexible work hours while the 100 Best stayed steady at 100 percent,” said Carol Evans, CEO, Working Mother Media. “These companies offer a framework of support for working families during good and bad economic times.”
Children’s Memorial was selected for the 2009 Working Mother 100 Best Companies based on an extensive application with more than 500 questions on workforce, compensation, child care, flexibility programs, leave policies and more. It also checked the usage, availability and tracking of programs, as well as the accountability of managers who oversee them. Seven areas were measured and scored: workforce profile, compensation, child care, flexibility, time off and leaves, family-friendly programs, and company culture. For this year’s 100 Best, particular weight was given to benefits, flexibility and parental leave. Since 2005, Children's Memorial has been on the 100 Best list.
For the second year in a row, Children’s Memorial was also named one of the top healthcare organizations to work for according to business magazine, Modern Healthcare. Modern Healthcare is the industry's leading source of healthcare business news ranked No. 1 in readership among healthcare executives and deemed a "must-read publication" by the who's who in healthcare.
